Studewood Cantina - Houston

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I expected run of the mill tex mex and got some great examples instead. The salsas were great, the red sauce being one of the best I've had. The original queso was wonderful better than most options out there. All of our entrees were good and I look forward to trying the pozole on the weekend. The service was a bit slow or non existent at times on a slow Thursday night. I only got a water refill once. But I will definitely return.

We always have a great meal at the cantina. The beef fajitas are some of the best in town. I got the grilled oysters last night and a brisket tamale. They both were great. The oysters were not overcooked or over seasoned. They were fresh and just right. Crispy beef tacos and grilled shrimp salad get a thumbs up as well. The green and red house salsa is the bomb.

I had the beef tacos from a pop-up taco stand at the car wash on Ella, and I absolutely loved them! The owner was promoting the restaurant and handing out free tacos, which was such a clever idea! The tacos were incredibly delicious, and I can't wait to visit the restaurant and try more of their offerings.

I had a fantastic experience, largely thanks to an amazing server! The portions were huge, and the atmosphere was lots of fun!
