Garrison Brothers Distillery - Hye

We had a GREAT time volunteering at Garrison Brothers Distillery! Fun, friendly employees, excellent breakfast and lunch, and bourbon tastings EVERY HOUR made for a memorable experience! We will do this again!!!

Had a blast here! Our tour guides Mike and Marlee were awesome, we learned a lot, had some great laughs, and drank some wonderful bourbon. The food at the whisky shack was amazing as well. Can't wait to visit again!

What an amazing and educational experience! We took the distillery tour and not only got to see how everything is done, we were able to taste various phases of creating it. From the mash, to a clear liquid thimble full of what can only be described as white lightning, to tasting the finished product, it was truly wonderful! I think what we found most intriguing was the history of how Garrison Brother 's came to be what it is now. We were quite surprised to find out how helpful the makers of other fine bourbons (those I 'd have to consider to be competitors were to GB to help get them started. The family stories were pretty funny, especially the one about the metal bull statue that sits on the property today! If only I could have been one of the Old 300 ! Lots of amazing historical info on this tour. Simply said, we paid $10 for admission... (my buddy was retired military and got in free! and had two drams of single batch bourbon right from the distillery! (Along with everything else we tasted and were even told the basic recipe! We will remember this tour forever! Thank you Garrison Brothers for making this possible!

First of all, I have to admit I am a bourbon nerd. I love learning everything I can about my favorite beverage, so my glowing review is probably heavily influenced by me geeking out during my trip here.I was welcomed warmly. Our tour guide was tons of fun with plenty of sarcastic humor (which I loved). No one got mad at me for asking 90% of the questions on the tour. We heard from an employee at each stop of the tour, got to sample some white dog and some of the Small Batch bourbon. The gift shop had lots of goodies and my old fashioned was nice.So, again, I love bourbon so I'm absolutely a biased observer, but I had a great time.
