Desert Nights - Ica

When my mother came here, we both ordered immediately. After a while, we watched others who had arrived after food. We saw a waitress bring her food and mine to another table. We waited about 15 minutes to talk to a waitress and get me some food. Very bad service from the waitress. The kitchen for the experience with a larger Burgee-Patty and extra frits.

We came for our last meal in Huacachina. It was very slow, it took over 40 minutes to get Nachos and another 40 minutes to get rice and vegetables. Our server apologized. Our drinks all came in sticky cups with things that swim in them and hand marks over the glasses. We couldn't drink them. Other people were served before us, so we were confused about it. It seemed that the waiting time was for everyone. We had to catch a bus, so I had to take my meal.

My wife and I had lunch here. It is one of many grocery stores dotted around the oasis. Great for drinks, cold and people. Service was nothing to scream. The food was average. They mainly serve Peruvian and American farewells. Prices are easy at the higher end of the middle class. Beer was cold, which is always a plus in my books. They have a roof terrace for an elevated view of the surroundings.

Ate here after our Peru Hop guide recommended it. Food took 40 minutes to arrive in an almost empty restaurant. Lomo was some of the worst I’ve ever seen, small dry, cold bits of beef with large chunks of equally cold tomato and onion thrown on a plate with cold chips and rice. Drinks are quite sizeable and nice though. Would not recommend trying any of the desserts with ice cream though, not even sure I would call it ice cream or just an ice crystal mess with vague flavouring.

In this place based on the reviews, but was disappointed by the food and price. We as a family had several dishes and they all seemed to be salted. Portions size was good, but prices at the top end compared to other restaurants in the city. I highly recommend the wild olive oil restaurant. Great food, better prices, better views, great staff and decent washrooms.
