I want to start off by commending them on a beautiful transformation and well fitting concept for our community. I got the arugula pesto pasta and it needed a lot more arugula, maybe chopped instead of minced. It also needed seasoning, and the garlic and cheese toast was burnt. My son 's breakfast was good but the house ketchup isn 't puréed so it 's running. But the coffee is cafe motto and brewed perfectly, great job! Service could be a little more attentive because I 'm literally writing this post and no one has came to see how I 've been since I got my food and I 've been done for 20mins now. (Pause) When I walked out I shouted thank you but they were too busy arguing about their food cost on tomatoes. Don 't be afraid to be friendly. Great presentation but minimal execution. I 'll give it another try though for sure. I 'm curious about their capers and chives egg salad and I 'm glad to have a early morning cafe in Imperial Beach even if the tomatoes are at a high cost value.

My wife and I dined here two weekends in a row and plan to return again next weekend. I challenge you to find a better breakfast spot in all of San Diego when it comes to price and quality. Every dish is under $10, yet they taste better than any $15 dish I've had elsewhere. Donax truly elevates your taste experience! The espresso is smooth, and the lunch sandwiches are loaded with meat and fresh vegetables. If you're thinking of coming for brunch or lunch, be prepared for a 35-minute wait on weekends (totally worth it), or you can call ahead and order to go. I highly recommend it—10/10!

Incredible! This place is absolutely worth a visit. The food quality is excellent, the menu is extensive, and the atmosphere is really cool, complemented by great staff. The prices are quite reasonable as well. I was on the lookout for a new favorite neighborhood spot, and I’ve definitely found it!
