Írjon visszajelzéstI really don't want to be a Gordon Ramsay wannabe but I'll start my review with the food. So we ordered buttered chicken but it was so raw, it still wants to cross the street (they had to bring it back to the kitchen to cook it again . The wonton soup has too much paminta in it that gossip bloggers want to out it. The siomai was not hot enough and don't get me started the yang chow rice. Their saving grace though was the black gulaman although there is really nothing special about it; plus it is the only beverage you can order. Now for the service. There was only one table occupied at the time we went in but menu was not given to us until we asked for it although there was one service staff who is available to do so (what's that about?! . The most puzzling part of the service is that the 2 wait staff constantly talks with each other and one had the audacity to apply powder to her face in plain sight of the guests. She was also constantly tinkering with her face considering that she handles plates and utensils and serving food at the same time without washing her hands. And the worst part of it? You can see her picking her nose in the dining area. The while experience was disappointing and bordering on disgusting. We weren't able to finish our meal. I hope that they can improve on the service, sanitation and food. I won't even talk about their rest room anymore but I guess you can paint the pictures
First thing we saw upon sitting down was the fly dancing the cha-cha on my plate. We came to try out their dimsum, and lots of dishes were unavailable that we weren't able to order our four initial choices. The hakaw was sticky, stuck to the plate like glue (see pic). The bean curd dumplings were aryt. The gulaman had more ice than liquid.
Legit Chinese dishes at very affordable prices. Love their hakao, siomai, lemon chicken and chicken feet. Binondo feels. They also have a mini grocery area for Chinese stuff ranging from medicines to snacks. You can also buy frozen dimsum here. IG: @maplesolano
The food takes around 20-30 minutes to be served, but anyways it is worth the wait since the food is delicious. I love their pork siomai- it tastes authentic and flavorful. Their rice meals are served in a hot pot! Cool-ish! Lol. The price is also worth it since they have big servings. Also, their fresh lumpia is a must-try dish.
Hubby and I decided to try out this eatery after our refreshing massage appointment at Bliss, the spa right across. The dining area is very small, only able to hold 4 sets of tables and chairs. The whole wall at one side is dedicated to a mini grocery where you can buy various Chinese food items and confections. After we've settled, the waiter was quick to attend to us, but when I innocently asked him about some dishes in their menu (e.g., the difference between Chinese style Beef Tenderloin and Beef Tenderloin with Oyster Sauce , he got a little tongue tied, then turned to his fellow waiters and even the cashier for help. Surprisingly, none of them were able to answer the cook himself had to step in for such a simple query. It dawned on me that the staff sans the cook weren't familiar with their own menu, which was really disappointing. I mean, aren't you supposed to know what YOU are selling? At least they made up for it in their enthusiasm to serve and greet their customers. The cook, on the other hand, was a total dear. Not only was he able to answer my questions (I'm a curious little woman, okay? , but he also offered us 2 huge bowls of steaming soup for free. This really delighted me because I had a mild fever then. It was a simple gesture, and it might not mean much to most, but I really appreciated his thoughtfulness. : We only ordered the Sizzling Chinese style Beef Tenderloin (P200 , a couple of servings of rice and drinks, and their Pork Shrimp Siomai (P75 . The beef tenderloin was good, but nothing extraordinary. I greatly enjoyed the siomai though. They were steaming, moist and soft, and each piece had a generous amount of shrimps in it. They actually have an ongoing promo for their dimsum 20% off from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, I think. I'm planning to take advantage of that on my next visit. All in all, we had a pleasant dining experience here. Not counting the staff's lack of knowledge on their menu (I'm sure they'll work on that , this place offers good food at a friendly price. Give it a try when you're in the area. :
