Starduster Cafe Inc. - Independence

My dad was a pilot.I grew up in restaurants like this.I love it here.Delicious food and a great vibe.

I used to come to Starduster all the time back in the early 2010 's when my family and I moved to Monmouth, and always remembered the service and food being amazing. I haven 't been back for a couple of years since the food seemed to go downhill, but after reading reviews it is confirmed I will never be visiting again. I am appalled at how defensive and aggressive the owner is when responding to comments. Someone commented about how the chicken fried steak has little meat, and she literally said well we buy it from the store and have no control over what they put in it , girl what?? Every response from the owner has been very, very defensive and just immature. Sad the Starduster isn 't what it used to be :

Super disappointing… this used to be my favorite place but it’s just become another money hungry restaurant with rude servers… oh here’s the bowl of fruit I had to pay extra for because I couldn’t have the eggs due to dietary restrictions) because “ it’s expensive” and I was going to just let this all go due to the holiday but when my food arrived with the boxes all crushed inside bag and my food I decided to share in hopes that this place will hopefully not repeat these mistakes.

Super home like, comfortable and over all a great place for a quick bite.

I ordered a vegi omelet as I have in the past. Spinach was charred and lifeless, tomato was diced fine like salsa, and the egg was overcooked. I asked for Obrien hashbrowns and was served shoe string potatoes. I've been here many times.
