Írjon visszajelzéstHad to try just about everything Dungeness Crab, Blue Crab, Shrimp and Grits,, Shrimp and Scallop Pasta, and Uncle Kenny's Sausage... all GREAT!!! Filet Mignon Skewers had good flavor but was a little tough. White Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese was also good and kids approved.. : In all.. Excellent service, great atmosphere.
Good value for your money! The seafood is excellent! The only downside, which can be easily fixed, is that the wax paper in the boil baskets has red ink that leaks onto the food.
Kid-friendliness: This place is very welcoming for kids, making it an excellent choice for families looking to enjoy delicious seafood. Parking: The parking lot is located behind the building, which can make it a bit tricky to find from the street.
My main issue, similar to many places these days, is the pressure surrounding tipping. This restaurant suggested a 15% tip, which felt excessive considering the self-service elements involved. We placed our order at the counter, received a number, got our own drink cups, and had to find our table. While the staff did bring our food, we were expected to clear our dishes and place them in the area by the fountain drinks. We both ordered the Lobster, Shrimp, and Scallop dinner, priced at $29 each. This came with two medium-sized ears of corn and a few red potatoes, as well as one Canadian lobster tail, seven red shrimp, and five sea scallops. We opted for the mild spice level, which I believe should have been labeled as "spicy" or "extra spicy." The staff took the dish back for some reason that I hope wasn’t as unappetizing as it sounds! Thankfully, I had tipped the suggested amount plus an extra 30 cents to round it up, as I had some uncomfortable flashbacks to a movie about food mishandling in restaurants. While the food was actually quite good, I had hoped the shrimp and scallops were either local or at least from domestic sources, rather than the southeast Asian ones you often find at grocery stores like Publix. It was quite messy to eat, but there were washing stations available where we could clean up—I found myself washing my hands multiple times! Drinks were reasonably priced at $2.50 each, with a selection of soft drinks and both sweet and unsweetened tea. Looking at their website, it seems this restaurant may be part of a chain, as there are at least three locations nearby. Overall, while the prices were on the higher side for the portion sizes—especially if the shrimp weren't local—the expectation of a 15% tip felt inappropriate given the minimal table service we experienced. There's definitely an abuse of the tipping culture in these places today. If we return to the area, I would likely choose to eat elsewhere, as I'm sure there are local seafood restaurants offering full table service with similar prices and better service. The only positive aspect was the idine rewards!
We ordered the Alaskan King Crab boil with an extra cluster, 1/2 pound of shrimp, and sausage added in. What a disappointment, I was looking forward to the Alaskan delicacy. The boil was overcooked by a long shot. The king crab may have been left over from the first season of Deadliest Catch. It wasn't even reminiscent of a fresh batch. The shell was so soggy that a cracker was useless—unless you only wanted to bend the leg. Sheers were the only way to get at the stale, fishy meat. The shrimp was mush. The sausage fared better since it soaked up a lot of flavorful juice from being boiled for so long. I have never had melt-in-your-mouth sausage before. It was the highlight.
