We always have a great experience here. The service is fantastic and keeps us coming back.
We were really disappointed and won’t go back. The restaurant itself, decor, music, food…is all stuck in the 90s. After 3 drinks, two soups, two entrees and sides, our bill was over $315. The value was not there at all. Our food arrived cold or room temperature. Everything from the Oscar style to the inner meat itself was cold/warm at best. The server was so so nice but fell short: spilled a drink all over the table. That’s fine. I’m understanding. The tempura green beans were inedible. The crab cakes were off. The julienne vegetables under my sea bass were gross: nothing about the dish complimented each other. Desserts were good but just okay (carrot cake and crème brûlée). The highlight of our meal was the sweet potato casserole, which is sad. The French onion soup was really wonderful, the corn bisque was not. For this kind of money there are FAR superior choices out there. The menu and the decor needs a major rehaul.
Went on NYE and they were busy... but unfortunately, too busy for their staff and cooks to handle. After being seated, we waited 1 hour 15 minutes to get our appetizers, which came out cold. The waiter told us to grab our own wine menu off of another table because he was busy and had his hands full. We couldn't get our server's attention to get our drinks. Our food was okay, but when you spend $680 (before tip! for a party of 5 at a nice restaurant, you would expect they are prepared to handle such a busy evening. I even tried calling the manager directly to let her know of our problems, but nobody has called me back. I will not be returning until I'm assured these are no longer issues
We arrived right on time for our 9pm reservation and waited about 15 minutes which was fine. We were celebrating my husband’s holiday birthday. However from the moment we sat down it was clear we were not the priority for our waiter. He took our wine order (a nice bottle of Nickel Nickel Chardonnay) and appetizer request. He offered bread but then forgot to bring it. We were enjoyed our wine and shrimp cocktail but then things got rough. After our bread salads arrived we disappeared to him. No offer for pepper and there was none on our table. We tried to get his attention but he was too busy with others. He had no helper which was unusual for our Eddie Merlot experiences of the past. This was our first time back list C-19. Anyway after we went ahead and ate our salads he came out to clear our plates. Several minutes later he came out to tell us the kitchen was running behind and he would bri g our entrees as soon as he could, which was quite some time. My husband ordered the Elk Chops and I ordered the Ahi Tuna entree. My dish was cold, however my husband did enjoy the elk. We never did get our own salt pepper even though other tables around us had some. We left disappointed to say the least and will not likely be back to Eddie Merlot’s anytime soon.
