Be careful with your bill, they have extra charges and they change more things that you did not order
Now this is one of those times where I have stopped in a random spot, did not look at the reviews and rolled the dice. I sat at the bar and received service immediately. The salsa was outstanding and I am already excited to see what happens next. It clearly family owned and operated and it seems to be a well cared for spot. I ordered the Puerto #7 and since I did not have my glasses I had only a basic clue what I was about to get, but the picture in the menu looked like a plate of ceviche with salsa negro. the taste did not disappoint. A very peasant citrus flavor with a very mild spice. The oysters, fish,squid and shrimp were all very good. I am giving this place a solid 4 stars in this class of restaurant. I am concerned now that that I have read some review about the lower ratings. I am surprised by that and I wonder if some folks are simply unable to be objective and maybe that just have the ability to use either 1 of 5 stars vs a reasonable range. I would stop here again and I am glad that I came by.
This was my first and definitely last visit to this restaurant. The food was decent, and the waitress was attentive, but we had an unpleasant experience. Since we were paying in cash, the waitress asked if we could use a card instead, explaining that if we paid cash, they would have to cover a percentage out of their own pockets. We felt bad for her, but we only had cash. Then, when we checked the bill, we noticed they had added an extra $10 service fee! When did restaurants start doing this? We're already paying for the food, and without service, the restaurant wouldn't be in business. It all felt very strange, and these new policies from the owner seem excessive. If they continue down this path, they may end up closing, and it's disheartening to think that the staff might have to cover costs out of their own wages.
