The food was very good for the price—my beef was cooked perfectly, the mushroom croquette was fantastic, and the gravy was simply delicious. The starters, which included bread and dips as well as wedges with gravy, were a great deal at just eight dollars. My husband also enjoyed his steak. We both left feeling very full and satisfied. Considering the price, this place is a great option if you're looking to dine out on a budget.
The chef went out of his way to prepare a gluten- and dairy-free dessert for one of our group members, which was greatly appreciated. Before we left, the chef even came out to check if we were satisfied with our meals, and the older lady at the counter was very welcoming. The restaurant was bustling, and many were turned away due to its popularity. Overall, we felt we received excellent service and enjoyed fantastic food. We will definitely be back!
Upon arrival, we were promptly seated by a very friendly waitress who informed us about the specials and took our drink orders. Our drinks arrived quickly, and after a bit of a delay due to a mix-up in the kitchen (which the waitress kindly apologized for), our starter of breads and spreads arrived, and it was delicious. Although we had to wait a while for our main courses, the game on TV helped pass the time. The wait was definitely worth it, as my salmon dish was absolutely stunning. My wife ordered the Dixie chicken and particularly enjoyed the quiche, but she did have to leave some of it on her plate because it wasn't heated all the way through. Unfortunately, we ran out of time to try the desserts, but we'll save that for our next visit. When our plates were cleared, we mentioned the cold quiche, and the waitress apologized. The manager also came over to apologize personally and took the price of the starter off our bill. Despite a few hiccups, we will definitely be returning to explore more of the menu as the food and service were great.
Were told it was good and we were not disappointed. Had the seafood chowder which was one of the nicest ever and the blue cod also very good, fresh and just cooked. Must mention the salads fantastic. We were quite late and it was quiet, however it was cosy on a cold night and we enjoyed talking with Glenise.
Whenever I am down south I always make sure I visit the Paddington Arms. The quality of the food is always outstanding and the staff are friendly and accomodating. Our children are always made to feel welcome and the whole dining experience is enjoyable for our family.
