Java House - Iowa City

Good experience for coffee. I happened to get in between small rushes and was able to get my order quickly. I had a pour over and ordered an iced coffee to go for my wife. The pour over was excellent, smooth and satisfying. The inside of the shop wasclean with plenty of available seating. I would go here for coffee again.

Not only is Java House the home of best cup of coffee in Iowa City, but the managers and staff are incredible. We had a medical emergency while eating lunch there and the staff went above and beyond to help us. Thank you!!!

The coffee was good, but it's far too pricey for what you receive. I paid $13 for two small coffees, and there wasn't even any latte art on top. It also took 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. I'll only consider returning for a very special occasion.

I met a friend here for a chat. This restaurant has been around for nearly thirty years, and the decor still carries a bit of 90s charm. The atmosphere feels cozy and welcoming, filled with people enjoying their drinks. My latte was excellent, and I really appreciate that they make the lid and cardboard sleeve optional to help reduce waste. Despite the busy environment, the noise level was quite manageable, so I had no trouble hearing my friend.

We always love visiting and picking up our favorite caffeine choices—Ultra Violet for me and American Gothic for my boyfriend. The customer service is excellent; they’re always very helpful if I feel like trying something different.
