Waffle House - Irmo

The chef served us the Grit balls, which were burnt and inedible. It is disappointing to see such a careless mistake, especially from someone with experience. It is not difficult to recognize when food is burnt and should not be served. I hope that in the future, the restaurant ensures that dishes are properly prepared before they are brought out to customers.

We walked in and were informed that we could only do takeout because they were short-staffed. Despite not having planned for it, there were no available tables for us to sit at. Eventually, the server offered to take our order and the two chefs had to work extra hours because of the server's decision. As we waited for our food, they turned away three other customers who wanted to order takeout.

I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and sometimes experience pain when using the restroom. Our server informed my wife that if there was a mess in the bathroom, he would clean it himself. She was not pleased and felt disrespected. I was able to calm her down after coming out of the bathroom. I spoke directly to the server because the way people are treated in this industry can greatly impact a customer's experience. Showing kindness and not judging based on appearance can go a long way. We noticed that the server treated a well-dressed man who arrived after us much better. What she doesn't know is that we are both nurses and always tip generously when dining out. This behavior is not just limited to our experience, as others have also complained about her.

Open not 24 hours apparently. the door was closed. Many thanks for the WF staff for the recognition of the person standing at the closed door (not really they did as if I were not there as if they were visibly argumented about something) no signs of any “joint hours” I was just a medical worker trying to eat 4 o'clock when I finally came out of work!•Thank you waffle house.
