Cafe Rio Mexican Grill - Irvine

I ordered nachos, but they didn't taste fresh. I suppose it might have been because I placed my order close to closing time, but honestly, I could tell that if I had eaten all of it, I could have ended up with food poisoning! The avocado dip had a strange, rotten smell.

I was disappointed that my phone order took longer than expected, especially since the restaurant was completely empty. Additionally, they didn’t have any fresca drinks available. When I mentioned to the cashier that the fountain was empty, she seemed surprised.

This restaurant offers a wide variety of customizable options, allowing you to create your own dishes from burritos, tacos, enchiladas, salads, tostadas, quesadillas, and nachos. You can choose from a range of toppings, including rice, beans, pico de gallo, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, guacamole, and queso. Additionally, there are four levels of sauce heat to choose from: mild, medium, hot, and extra hot.

I don?t understand all the vitriol toward my beloved Cafe Rio. Is it true that there is one employee here that holds up lines at the register? Maybe. Is it also true that Cafe Rio makes the best mixes of lettuce, beans, rice, salsa, guacamole andtortillas? Resounding yes. Order ahead. Out of the many, many times I have ordered ahead, there has been literally ONE timewhen my order wasn?t ready ahead of time. And it?s always excellent. Get the sweet peak quesadilla. Mmmmmm.

I've been visiting Café Rio for eight years, and I absolutely love their veggie burrito with black beans, especially when it's prepared enchilada style. The dining experience and service here are outstanding, which is why I remain a loyal customer.
