Saravana Bhavan - Irving

I have mixed feelings about this place. I'm Indian and my family loves idyllicly lonely and dosa, so we go here because we don't make it home. they have small idyllic portions for a fairly high price, their dosa is incredibly fat when they are the paper dosa with masala on the side. I will say that her chutney is unmatched, and her idyllic, although little part is always perfect. gobi 65 is also not bad :

It's been years since I went to Saravana Bhavan and this reminded of my days when I lived in Chennai. I ordered idli, Pongal, Vada combo and the food is great. The idli is a bit on the hard side but pongal, sambar and vada are amazing. I also had Paneer-cashew biryani and that's amazing aswell. The portion of the biryani is on the lesser side and I didn't find much of paneer or cashew nuts. Overall I had a great experience and will go back and try more. Service was ok but could be great.Vegetarian options: This is a vegetarian restaurant.

Come here usually for a quick breakfast. Service is decent and food is as good as you can expect in HSB. Cannot go wrong with any of their tiffin items. Onion oothappam/masala Dosa are my usual orders and they are consistently good.Food: 4/5

Came in on a Sunday around 7. Was seated right away.Came in to satisfy my dosa craving and ordered the onion rava masala dosa. Along with some Chole Bhaturay.The food was good for the most part. The service was okay, the kitchen was behind. We got our stuff in piece meal. Finished the one dish and had to follow up on the rest.

A quick stop for lunch. Never been disappointed with their thali meals or dosais.Vegetarian options: All vegetarian. Where else would you go for an all vegetarian Indian meal?!
