I will be dreaming about the Mexican Street Corn Bowl until the next time I'm in the Pittsburgh area. Amazing food, super fun atmosphere, and friendly folks. Ten out of five stars.
This place was absolutely amazing. The food was so good we went home and wanted to go right back. Lobster awesomeness shrimp out of this world.... Thanks again. Wait till you try his salsa and chips ...wow
The food is flavorful and the service is exceptional. If you're in the area, be sure to give it a try! My wife and I took advantage of their daily special: chips, salsa, and queso for just $6. It was a fantastic deal, as we received a full bag of chips along with two generous servings of salsa and queso. The queso has a delightful blend of Velveeta, Sam's salsa, and other ingredients, making it truly special. The salsa itself is a finely crafted mix of sweet tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, and cilantro, seasoned perfectly and mild in spice. My wife ordered the Baja shrimp taco and the fried cod taco, while I opted for the Bandito Burrito. The Baja shrimp taco features wild-caught shrimp, cabbage, Cotija cheese, lime, and adobo sauce, while the fried cod taco includes the same ingredients but with beer-battered cod. The burrito comes with your choice of meat—either Beyond Meat or wild-caught shrimp. I chose shrimp, and my burrito was packed with rice, black beans, guacamole, queso, grilled onions, and peppers, all wrapped in a flour tortilla and served with salsa and extra guacamole on the side, topped with Cotija cheese and adobo sauce. Both my wife and I enjoyed our meals; however, I did wish the cod had retained a bit more crispiness. My burrito was flavorful and well-balanced, remaining moist—something that can sometimes be a flaw in burritos. The rice and shrimp were definitely the standout components for me. To top off our meal, we had a lovely conversation with Sam, the owner. It was a pleasure to learn about him and his story. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with the warmth and attentiveness you'd expect from a fine dining establishment, with Sam's son checking on us to ensure everything was satisfactory. The staff was friendly and eager to assist. Salsa Sam's is a hidden gem in the community, and I highly recommend supporting this small business and experiencing their food for yourself. While traveling on Route 76, we decided to stop by Salsa Sam based on some recommendations, and we were so glad we did. Sam and his son were incredibly welcoming, and the food was outstanding. This place is a charming, family-owned gem that’s perfect for road trip dining. I enjoyed the Mexican corn shell along with the jackfruit taco, both of which were delicious. The owners were very generous and even treated the kids to ice cream on the house. The customer service was top-notch, the food was excellent, and everything was reasonably priced—no unpleasant surprises after enjoying our meal. I highly recommend Salsa Sam!
