We needed a location for a private gathering for my mother's 97th birthday. I wanted great food and easy parking with no health concerns for our guests. An internet search brought me to Simply Sara's in West Jacksonville (Old Ortega Village). What a blessing for us! The owners, Sara and James, together with their daughter Kelsey, were simply wonderful from the menu selection to food prep to hospitality for our guests. The food was pure southern comfort and perfect to bring back wonderful memories of southern cooking for my mom. I brought in flowers and vases, and Sara handled those, making sure they were arranged and distributed around the lovely, warm, and fun dining room. Our guests couldn't say enough good things about the location, the meal, and the friendliness of the staff. Because we had a private party, we were able to provide wine and beer, but even that was made simple through the efforts and support of Sara and her team. Simply Sara's is simple only in how they make your life when working with them or purchasing meals through them. The joy and positive results are complex and worth the investment in choosing them for your party or food to go. Can't wait to find another chance to use this wonderful and welcoming restaurant and to see this terrific family again! Those of you who live in the area you are crazy if you don't make use of their prepared meals to go! You won't find better food anywhere that is so ready to be taken home and savored! Thank you, Sara, James, and Kelsey, for all you did to make my mom's birthday celebration so special! She is still telling everyone how fantastic (her word her party in Jacksonville was.

We picked up a family meal yesterday. Chicken and yellow rice, green beans, and potato salad. Let me just tell you I don’t eat anyone’s potato salad except my Granny’s. At least I thought I didn’t. If I wouldn’t have had to share that heavenly dish with my husband I would’ve devoured the whole thing myself. Holy cow.
