Great location. Terrible service and terrible hotel conditions. We booked a stay during Portland's heat wave and 3 of their 4th floor rooms had the AC break. No one told us until after we went to the room and found out ourselves. We walked to the front desk downstairs and it was clear they knew it was broken. They told us it broke for rooms 401, 402, and 403. We were offered either a box fan or to just leave. So we left. There was no acknowledgement that these conditions were not ok (it was in the 90s, humid, and on the upper floor where it's even more hot). No attempting to help. Not even partially comping the stay (or offering anything). Nothing. The location is central to everything but at $180/night for a queen bed, needing to share a bathroom with other rooms in the hallway, and no AC, I would not recommend.

The good: Nice stay. Soaking pool in the basement is a fun experiment. Good location walkable to many things in downtown. The bad: no parking included. Can be loud outside at night, but ok with earplugs

I booked this hotel for the price and décor before seeing that the bathrooms were down the hall. As a middle-aged woman who visits the bathroom several times during the night, I was worried. And the. I read about the smell and was worried I’d booked myself a stinker. Happily I was wrong! Not only was the hotel’s whimsical, eclectic décor a refreshing change from hotel chains, but the room was cozy, well appointed, and sparkling clean. the bathroom issue was no issue at all. There was always a bathroom free when I needed it. And the giant hot tub in the basement (which I’d booked because it’s listed as a pool! was such a delightful change from the run-of-the-mill hotel offerings.

Super friendly staff in a great location. Quaint, music inspired rooms. Great cocktails, relaxing soaking pool, food is good as well. Be sure to visit their bar around the corner also!
