Chévere Latin Café - Joliet

For the main courses, we had the ropa vieja pabellón, a delicious shredded beef dish served with rice and black beans, accompanied by plantains that were out of this world—so good! The churrasco was our second dish, featuring a perfectly grilled steak served with chimichurri sauce, salad, and yuca fries. The desserts are homemade and truly unique. We finished our meal with passion fruit tiramisu and a pistachio mousse on chocolate cake. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend a visit!

At one point, everything just seemed to fall into place, and happiness came over me. I absolutely love this café; the atmosphere is fantastic. I ordered a Cuban sandwich with rice, and it was quite filling. I’m not an expert on Cuban sandwiches, but this one was really good—not greasy like the last one I had elsewhere. I also enjoyed a refreshing Cuban coffee, which was the perfect addition to my visit. I'm not a local, but I'll definitely make the trip here on days when I want to escape the city. There’s an outdoor seating area, and I believe there's public parking right in front, which is a bonus for more outdoor seating. The server was incredible—very attentive and friendly. Honestly, she was the highlight of my experience and really made me feel welcome. As I mentioned, the vibe here is just great!

We were eagerly anticipating our visit, and it did not disappoint! This was the best Cuban sandwich I have ever had—a true gem that everyone must try! It's conveniently located right across from the Rialto Theater, with parking available right in front. We can't wait to go back!

I came through complete coincidence over chévere latin caffe. we had a business meeting close by and were looking for a place to eat. we have seen the reviews and pictures, we were immediately convinced that a visit is worth and in what a wonderful place! the owners are absolutely great, so friendly and friendly hostess. the food was delicious and fresh! it was really a great experience and I would like to return to any given opportunity. highly recommended chévere latin caffe!

I had a great experience at this Latin- Venezuelan restaurant. The service is just amazing, the owner serves you herself and I felt as in home! The best Cachapas in Illinois are in this place! They have plenty vegetarian options , the food test really good, deserts were very tropical and delicious and I would comeback for sure ! We will try sancocho, Paella and fish next time!
