I come to juiz de fora and try not to try mexicana is a sin.
Year after year, we have to stop at Mexicana for her great pastel. You order, then wait to get these burning hot fried fried things filled with the meat you have chosen. They are huge and delicious. We can not be so big they are....They range from 10 to 18 Renaissance (Brazilian currency) but it is worth it. You can't go wrong. They're all amazing.
Every time we visit juiz de fora, we reserve at least one night for this huge, tasty pastel. it makes fun to watch these youngs that it is on this food truck, but it is even better to shed in one of their aromes. be ready to be full, for it is a great pastel! Don't worry about the calorie and all that bad stuff. Go on the next day. make sure they go in the evening. they are not there during the day. they put their order, pay, wait while they prepare it, and after they burn their hot, do not forget to add the vinagrete to cool it a little. Finding a place to sit is the biggest challenge as there are no chairs or tables. who cares? if they can't wait to have the first bite home or hotel, they just enjoy it right there. that's what everybody does.
This pastellaria has been in my life since I was only a child and I have always loved this place. Use after a break in college and weekends with family. Now that I no longer live in Juiz de Fora, I go to Mexicana whenever I can and never disappoint. The quality is as good as I remember and the staff is always... I always mean very kind! My favorite is the chicken pasture, but also the other flavors are delicious. Obrigada de nada
