The Lokomotive - Jupiter

Honestly, I'm a bit baffled by all the five star reviews for this place. The ambience is great and there's nothing wrong with the service. But when I go to a cute coffee shop and pay $5 for a cappuccino, I'm used to getting a generous serving in a ceramic mug, usually with some artistic presentation. Lokomotive served me a cappuccino in a very small paper to-go cup, even though we were staying in the shop to drink our coffee. After all the hype and seeing how beautiful the setting is, the coffee was kind of a letdown. I can get better coffee at home from my Nespresso machine.

I want to give a fair review. The vibe and scenery of the coffee shop was very beautiful and a fun place to hang out. But my issue is the taste of their coffee. Now if you like sugary coffee then you’d love this place. If you are a coffee purist or snob like myself then you will hate their coffee. I had two different drinks from them. A cortado and a latte. Both tasted like they either used bad beans or the machine grinder was not dialed in. This is not to say this place is bad. It’s just I’m not their demographic. I’m the guy who has his own espresso machine and loves to taste the different notes of the coffee. This place is very close to Starbucks. So in my opinion I will not be going back because I don’t enjoy their coffee. But I know a lot of people will because most people can’t tell the difference between a bad cup of coffee and a good cup of coffee. Either way it was a fun experience trying to a new place.

Awesome atmosphere! Such a unique feel and lots of seating areas that allow you to find a quiet place to enjoy your coffee. Staff is very friendly and coffee tasted great.

Sydney (owner) is so nice and makes everyone feel welcomed. Huge, open space is very chill and comfortable. Yet has that cozy feel. Doesn’t feel like you’re sitting in FL.

Amazing service!! And the coffee is so good. You have to try the chocolate croissant...
