Bun Mee Phan - Kansas City

Just had the lemongrass spicy chicken banh Mi from Bun Mee Phan in KC! It was so good that I ate the whole thing without drinking it! Loves the baguette the combination of the chicken with the spicy sauce, lemongrass and plucked cucumber and carrots. The Cilantro gives him a great taste with every bite!

Fantastic Banh Mi! The service is quick and the food is delicious! I can't wait to come back and try more items from the menu. This has become my go-to spot for Banh Mi.

I've been visiting this restaurant with my family for years, even since its days at the old location, and I've never had a bad experience. The owners are incredibly friendly, and the food arrives quickly. It truly is a hidden gem! My absolute favorite is the grilled pork. I've lived in many places, but I always return here whenever I'm in town. The spring rolls are massive and incredibly tasty. I give it an 11/10!

Ordered a Banh mi and asked Mayo instead of Pate. The person who took the order seemed confused and almost hesitant to make the change, then asked if spicy Mayo would be okay. I guess they're just wearing sharp Mayo? It's not unusual that you have Mayo or butter instead of Pate. I ordered the salty lemonade that was described to me as margarita without alcohol. It was terrible. My employee had the regular lemonade and it seems like it was made of powder, the drink was strangely hot when the ice cubes tried to cool it. Maybe they use hot water to dissolve their concentrate, but it tasted terrible. I didn't drink it after the first drink. The bread they used was not the usual baguette, it had too much bread to fill ratio and it was not roasted. Really shake on the filling, and although they put spicy mayo on it, it was very dry. It was missing daikon. My Coworkers Shot was the short Rib special, it looked incredibly fat and overall underwhelming.

The food was decent, the prices were great, and the portions were generous. However, the meat in both dishes was definitely a bit dry.
