Peepers - Kelleys Island

Rarely things live the expectations, but Peeper's whole damn barbecue did this and more. I visited 2020 and saw this on the menu, but there were 2 of us. For a whole year I thought about going back and we finally made it. Every part of the dinner was amazing. People were super friendly (and the dog) and the value was excellent. I had the Philly cheese Steak Brisket who was great. I had so much meat that the sandwich fell apart! But you have to order the right things. I ate with my mother and she has the burned ends... It was tender, but very salty and strange tasting. The drinks had a slightly cleaner taste, so it is best to stay with a slightly stronger tasting like the pink lemonade. Service was friendly, but could have been a tad faster as we were the only family in the restaurant then.

G was wonderful. I was with a Canadian person who said she was the nicest person she met. So I suppose that really says something.

This restaurant offers the best food on the island. I highly recommend the chicken drum lollipops and the sirloin kabobs. They also serve the best beans I've ever tasted. Enjoy sitting on the veranda with a beer while watching people pass by. The owners and staff are fantastic!

This has always been my go-to place for a quick drink! There wasn’t much of a crowd, so I snagged a seat at the bar. I ordered two strawberry shots and a drink, and then we were off to our next destination. The staff was really friendly, too!
