Mama Disalvo - Kettering

This place was outstanding! The portions are huge and the food is amazing. We will definitely be back for more date nights!

Saw the reviews on this place so we decided to go for dinner. We arrived early for dinner and it was already very busy. We waited about 20 minutes. I had the RIGATONI ALL'AMATRICIANA made with imported Guanciale, sautéed onions, wine, Mamma's Homemade Sauce and Pecorino with an order of meatballs. The Rigatoni was a bit overcooked, the sauce was just ok, and the portion was small for the price. Meatballs also were just ok. I don't see what the big attraction is.

No question that Mamma Disalvos Italian Ristorante is a popular Italian-American restaurant in the Greater Dayton Metropolitan Area. No question that many locals and guests are sold on this Italian-American restaurant. My wife and I are infrequent flyers to this property. I have learned to value the phrase your wife maybe wrong, but it is silly to prove it to her. My wife is 100% Italian, and has a mind of her own, which she readily shares with me. She comes from generations of Italians who prepare tomato sauce from scratch, and she dislikes the Mamma Disalvos Italian Ristorante sauce. While I may have a different opinion, she wins.... Clearly my wife is the expert on Italian-American food in our family. My wife had years of learning and experience in her Nona 's kitchen and in her Mother 's kitchen. We have toured Italy, several Little Italys in US from Manhattan to San Diego. I respect her experiences, views and choices. Dining Four Star Service Five Star Ambience Five Star My wife insists that Greater Dayton Metropolitan Area has many other delightful Italian-American restaurants; my response is yes, dear.... The tariff is appropriate for the fare.

I have only ate there once... Never went back...I ordered scallops and they were tuff ' chewy and gritty... Honestly spaghetti Warehouse has the best calamari I 've eaten in the area...I will never go back... But it is what it is... Maybe it was just a one-time experience and I should give them a second chance... I simply cannot bring myself to do it...

The very best pasta sauce I've seen is found here. The flavor is untouchable by comparison. The staff makes you feel you are at Grandma's house for family dinner. Go try it out and let us all know how you like it
