Lady Helen - Kilkenny

We recently enjoyed our second fantastic dinner in Kilkenny, following a visit to Campagne the night before. The Lady Helen provided a delicious contrast, with a tasting menu that was double the price but truly exceptional. The seven courses, paired with wine, were top-notch in terms of quality, featuring outstanding cooking and ingredients. The menu was so impressive that it felt more like a two-star experience than a one-star. Unlike other tasting menus where some courses may be lacking, each dish at The Lady Helen was full of flavor and expertly prepared. We had a delightful evening, thanks to the wonderful restaurant team.

Expensive, but so worth it. We had the 9 course tasting menu with paired wines. The food was excellent and the pairings meant we tried wines we wouldn’t otherwise have tried. The staff were attentive and everything came at a good pace. The enthusiasm of the Sommelier was incredible, knowledgable and happy to share his knowledge.

We ate at 3 Michelin starred restaurants (0ne and two on a recent trip to Ireland and Lady Helen was a bit disappointing. While food was excellent the service was a bit lacking. Overall experience missed the mark on multiple points and seemed tired. Dinner seemed to drag on (3.5 hours that seemed longer . Wouldn’t go back.

Breakfast was great, but dinner was not. We had expected an ala carte option to the tasting menu but not available. Tasting menu was very expensive and not to our liking. Also, the timing was very inconsistent, 1st 3 courses were quick then big wait then 2 more then another wait and then last 2. Very nice setting so sad to be so disappointed

Superb, absolutely outstanding. A truly memorable occasion.We will return! The staff and food were at another level.
