Írjon visszajelzéstFor a Kiwi wanting to watch the recent Parker v Ruiz WBO Title Fight; Churchill's was a great venue to settle down for some drinks and a meal before the main event started. Full of character, large TV screens and air conditioning on a hot Sydney night our group of five sat down to survey the menu. I ordered the pie/peas and mash - good call; it was full of that comfort-food flavor. My Nephew had the ribs - Mmmm impressive looking and tasted even better. Brother Gabe had the Salmon which was nicely cooked and served up with plenty of extras. All drinks and food were reasonably priced. If you love your sport and a good feed than this place is a knockout.
I’ve visited a few times recently and noticed that the bistro section has changed to an American-style or inspired diner. The setting has also been slightly updated with new table settings and other changes in the front section to reflect the new theme.I tried the Delmonico steak with mash and almond beans sauce on the first visit. The steak wasn’t quite as good as I would have liked. It had a few too many tendons and was difficult to bite at times. The mash with the almond bean sauce was an interesting side. I also tried the Latino loaded schnitzel, which was the usual schnitzel but topped off with beef chilli and that was available as a special, which was reasonable value. Lastly I’ve also tried the Mexicano crisp pizza. It clearly used fresh ingredients for the topping and dough. The service overall has been friendly and the food comes out quite quickly.
I dined here twice towards the end of December, 2013 and had the scotch fillet steak with mash and salad. On my second visit, the soft drink was complimentary but strangely it was not offered for my initial visit. The quality of the steak was high, requested medium well done. There was still a little bit of pink in the centre as expected and I found the steak sufficiently tender. No tendons could be found, which was good. I also tried a little of the spaghetti bolognese, which was also very good. Service here was quite friendly. You basically place the order and take a device which beeps when the order is ready so all orders have to be collected. The seating area was quite comfortable and nicely appointed. It's a sports bar so there were large TV screens with various sports on display, all the major sports ongoing at the time as far as I could tell. The steak here was very good and the prices standard ($22 for the steak set). Location is also quite central, near the major Kingsford roundabout.
Churchills is one of the only decent places I've found that plays all of the soccer World Cup Qualifiers – no matter what day, time or channel they are on. (Also a great venue for UFC and EPL). This is the best real sports bar I've been to. Not a pub with a tv in the corner pretending to be a sports bar - this place shows everything on multiple screens. I'm a die-hard soccer fan so I signed up for their sports alerts and get emails every week about playing times so never miss a big game. Bring on the World Cup! I’m also a big fan of the $9.90 lunch deal – great steak with a free middy.
Good spot for betting and boozing. Decent priced at 7 dollars a pint (shame it's carlsberg) and nice set up with the poker tables, bandits and tab
