Royal Fish - Kingston upon Thames

Royal Fish Bar in Kingston is a disappointing dining experience that I will not be returning to. The food is mediocre at best, but it is not the subpar quality that will keep me away - it is the dishonesty of the staff. On three separate occasions, I have caught them trying to overcharge me by adding extra items to my bill or charging me for larger portions than I actually received. During my last visit, I even witnessed them deliberately giving me a smaller portion of chips and charging me for a larger one. When I brought this to their attention, they were unapologetic and dismissive. It is clear that this establishment cannot be trusted and I would not recommend dining here to anyone.

The service lacked friendliness and the restaurant had cheap plastic tablecloths and office chairs. The hygiene was questionable, with dirty floors, stained furniture, and a strong odor coming from the toilets. The kitchen area was stained and the chips did not taste cooked properly. The chips were white instead of the usual yellow color and the tomato sauce did not taste right. After a few bites, we decided to leave the rest of the chips uneaten. Despite it being a busy sunny day, the restaurant was empty, which may explain why.
