Toriton is one of the things I will miss most about Hokkaido when I return to Canada. Medium prices, super high quality fish and a consistently excellent experience. Engaru, Kitami, Asahikawa, doesn't matter, always great. You usually have to wait for a table, but that makes the first bite worth it. Get the scallops when they are in season, fresh from the sea of Ohotsk. Can't beat it
Drove from Asahikawa to Abashiri. Pit Stop Lunch at this sushi restaurant. It's worth the detour. Must order the fish nebula soup, great.
