Írjon visszajelzéstWe had dinner at The Berlin a couple of weeks ago. We decided to go there because we knew of the chef from his time at Langdon Hall. The menu is limited and I think changes daily. Having said that we had one of the best dinners that we have had in a long time. Special marks for the bar tender who makes the most amazing cosmopolitans that I have ever had (on the rocks in a rocks glass - way too good). Our server was great (I cannot remember her name). We had a bit of delay with the delivery of our coffees and teas and the waitress volunteered to take those off of the bill. I agree with other comments on the music....I am ok with it not being my taste in music but please, don't make it so loud. Otherwise one of the best meals that we have had in a long time.
Best dessert of possibly my life tonight: peaches, strawberry consommé, buttermilk ice cream and an almond crumble to die for. (And I've had some desserts that have made me cry in a good way.) Also, the chanterelle salad was pretty incredible, and yet so simple. Thank you!
We were two couples this evening both the food and service were terrific. There was a small hiccup with one of the main courses, our waitress caught it and had it remedied quickly. Each person had an appetizer or starter, a main and then a desert. The beef and fish mains were cooked to perfection. The starters and appetizers were inventive and tasty. The deserts very good. The service really stood out as friendly but not in your face and attentive, so the meal was well paced and beverages poured with great timing. Highly recommend.
My husband and I enjoyed The Berlin last night for the first time, for our 25th wedding anniversary dinner. The food was absolutely superb! Check out the pictures I attached with descriptions. The Berlin is one of the top restaurants in the KW area for very good reason. The service for the most part was excellent as well, except we had to ask for our basket of bread when they were offering it freely to other tables, and there was a 30 minute period when I believe our server forgot about us, during which time he was supposed to bring us a copy of the menu and bring my husband the wine list. I'm still giving them an overall top rating, and highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion. I have to also comment we didn't like the background music, which was more geared towards the regular yuppy clientele I expect. Also the main long wall of the restaurant is very unusually decorated, in that there is are a lot of dried herbs hanging from a series of ropes and sticks. Perhaps I don't appreciate art, but in my opinion that's not art at all, but rather looked like a cheap DIY gone wrong.
Had a great dinner experience at the Berlin. Food was excellent and our server attentive, knowledgeable and just plain nice (glad we got him and not others). Very extensive beer list and good wine list. Menu changes often we're told and all dishes were well seasoned and delicious.
