Weathervane Seafood - KITTERY

I visited this restaurant with some friends during my week in Kittery, and we were really impressed. The seafood was outstanding and cooked to perfection.

I received the wrong order and expected to have fantail shrimp with calamari, but it felt like I got someone else's leftovers. It's disappointing, especially since we've been dining here for decades and have spent hundreds over time. The margaritas are priced at $5, which is reasonable, but they're mostly just watered down.

We drove five hours to this restaurant specifically to enjoy Maine lobster, and we were not disappointed! Everything about Weathervane was perfect. The food was delicious, and our server was fantastic. There was a brief moment of confusion when he brought out the strawberry shortcake, which I didn't expect since I’d never been to New England before. Just because it was on the menu doesn't mean it should be overlooked. We give this place a big thumbs up and are very happy with our visit!

Honest review from a well traveled tourist: The lobster is why you are coming here. The lobster is great. I believe we have tried lobster every way they serve it, and all was great. Lobster pie is very unique. Place is clean, plenty of options at the bar. Portions on everything outside of lobster is huge. Worth the try for sure, just ensure ya got the money to pay for it. This place has better variety than most of the ?fried seafood platter? type restaurants. They also have daily specials which were very tasty. The lobster pie is a bit too buttery but that is easily cut with a squeeze of the provided lemon wedge. The teriyaki salmon tips looked amazing although I didn?t try them. Started with some onion nuggets which were so much bette than onion rings! All in all, it?s not gourmet but we?ll be back.
