Restaurant Sushi Bar Oishi - Kloten

We love to come here frequently since we are all sushi lovers and try sushi restaurants wherever we go. This is a cosy place where you get freshly prepared sushi creations that are very tasty. Since it is in Switzerland of course it is pricy but not more than other sushi places in and around zurich but here you feel more welcome and treated better.

Since Kloten is a rather town small and close to the airport, this is a great place to get fresh sushi and friendly conversation. Kloten has many good restaurants, but this being the one-off, (i.e. something different) it is fun to try and it is worth the try! the hours are limited- not open on weekends- but M-F lunch and dinner; take what you want off the boat or order something not on the boat. Staff is friendly and helpful with helping you with decisions... Definitely will be back here next time in town. i also noticed that this is a favorite with locals and folks off the train from Zurich...

I fancied a light dinner and nipped to Oishi for some sushi. I occasionally eat sushi, so I thought it'd be a nice change. I was warmly welcomed and settled into the corner. The waitress was kind and attentive. I then selected a shrimp roll dish from the conveyor and was really surprised how flavoursome, juicy and fresh it was. Needless to say I had another dish, then some tuna nigiri and a salmon nigiri (lightly warmed with a blowtorch). My light meal... turned into a full meal, due to the excellent food. The chef was engaging and keen to adapt his dishes to the customers tastes. I left a very satisfied customer.

The sushi is definitely fresh but not very tastefull. The belt is nice but the restaurant is too small for this. Not all sushi was on the belt (nigiri for instance or sashimi.) There was also no menu where you could order this. This type of sushi was offered at the end by the waitress. The price of one sushi goes up to 12chf. Extremely high for this quality.
