Írjon visszajelzéstYesterday, my family and I went for Sunday dinner at Les Saint Jacques. Two of us had been there a month before and had only spoken good things about the place so we were very excited. We arrive at 17 for an early seating, and are one of the first ones to arrive. We have a table right at the entrance and ask whether it’s possible to get another table in the center of the restaurant. Despite it being empty we’re told it’s not possible which is fine. The table wasn’t bad. We all get asparagus for a starter which was nice. Nothing to say here perhaps the piece of meat on top was unnecessary for the dish. For the main course, one of us had the fish of the day which was Hake served with a nice sauce and potato salad. This was also very nice. Three of us had the boeuf bearnaise a flat iron steak with a flavoured butter on top, a large portion of fries and bearnaise on the side. Two of the steaks were cooked perfectly (medium rare) but the third steak seemed like a strange cut of meat that wasn’t very appetising. The fries were good. We experienced that the bearnaise sauce the 3 of us were sharing was a tad cold. We asked one of the employees whether we could get a warmer sauce to which he didn’t respond or look us in the eyes, just took the sauce and left. He came back with a new one still without saying a word. And it was as if the new sauce was even colder. But perhaps it was just the same as before. We asked the same man again, if it was possible to have it warmer and he snapped and in an uncalled for tone told us that if they make it warmer the sauce will split. This is a fair point when handling béarnaise sauce, the only thing is that the mini saucepan that it was served in was cold, so perhaps when the sauce is transferred here, it looses at least 10 degrees of heat. One could wonder why not serve it in a warm saucepan to retain the heat? I’m sure the sauce directly from cooking is perfect. We asked if we could try one more time where the man said the sauce will be the same but nonetheless took our sauce to the kitchen. Few seconds later he comes back with a split sauce and demonstratively placed it on the table. I can understand the provocation had we been very rude. But this was simply uncalled for. We had asked politely and would’ve understood from the get go if he had explained to us up front about the sauce and not been passive aggressive. We were very shocked by this behaviour and also told him that you can’t just serve a sauce like that and act that way and he said that he had warned us. We didn’t very much enjoy the rest of the stay as the waiter continued to look passive aggressively towards us, shaking his head. Finally we had the Creme Brûlée to finish which was perfect. One could’ve left out the rhubarb sorbet on top to keep it simple, but it was still very, very nice. In general the food is great and the atmosphere of the restaurant which was packed on a Sunday evening was nice. But the service was off this evening. Our waitress never came to ask how the food was and in general wasn’t very present or observant with us. Perhaps due to our spot in the restaurant. And the other employee who got tilted by the sauce was just plain provocative and rude. We did however have a short interaction with another waitress when getting our desserts who was very professional and pleasant. Perhaps we were sitting in the wrong end of the of the restaurant.
Good French style food, cozy decorated, serves good vegetarian food as well, but the waiter was a little bit stressed and unattentive! The food was served before the drinks. But all in all it was a good experience and delicious food.
Unfortunately not any longer one of my favourites ! Wonderful greeting by a young female waiter, who quickly and professionally arranged a table , brought me water and a great glass of Gigondas, it was obvious that they were behind on many tables, so I quickly ordered the tartare and told my waiter that she was doing a great job. She unfortunately left the restaurant before my food arrived, my fries were overcooked and when the tartare is covered in salad so you can’t see the tartare below I get suspicious , I left most off the food and enjoyed my wine , no one came to my table at any time to offer more or to check if I was ok , wanted more wine , water or if they should clear my table . So I finally went inside and asked for the bill when asked if everything was ok , I said , Not really , not the usual service or food quality, and you have a problem with the service and attention to the quests it was obvious that many tables had the same experience and was talking about the lack of attention service . The manager quickly got upset and said , so what do you suggest , it’s our best year ever !! Hmmm that’s most likely because you have added more tables , reduced the quality of the food, not added more staff poor management this was my last visit !
Well-cooked food in comfortable surroundings inside as well as outside when the weather allows it. The service is competent and pleasant. I will definitely return.
In these Corona times take away is the way to go for a food treat. Le Saint Jacques at Østerbro is a really good place for this. We went for 2 different starters and 2 different main courses. Everything was spot on and very delicious. We will visit Le Saint Jacques again. Thanks :
