Staader Fahrhaus - Konstanz

Great location. Not over run by tourists like many places in town. We sat outside, lovely setting under trees. Our server was friendly but not very knowledgeable when asked about certain dishes on the menu. As it is asparagus season ( which only lasts max three months in Germany) most dishes had this veg as its main component. If you don't like them you have rally lucked out. The food was OK. Wine list good. The prices were on the high side. It will be a while before We go back, there are too many other excellent restaurants in Konstanz.

The restaurant is ok...clean and excellent location. it is focused on local and sea fishes. the sales staff is not very informed about ecological aspects of fishery issues. protected rock saalmon is banned from most fish selling retail chains not only because the pouplation is about to disapear entirely but also because is uusally very conterminated with chemical substances. A fish monger should knew. I will not go there again.

Good, but some overpriced food. Service is ok. The menu is not very various. We expected mo tasty fish from the restaurant just near the lake

We stumbled across this restaurant and had a wonderful meal. My husband had the 4-course vegetarian menu. I went a la carte and had curry fruit soup, fish from the lake, and a berry dessert. It was perfect. The fish was cooked perfectly, the berry dessert was just right, and the curry soup was delicious and like nothing I've had before. Our companions missed out because they'd had a big lunch, but they very much enjoyed their huge shared cheese plate, with assorted exciting cheeses. I wish this restaurant was closer to my home so I could visit often.

Located within a few hundred feet from the ferry terminal between Staad and Mersburg. We had dinner in its garden on the waterfront under the foliage. Romantic!Traditional but also imaginative dishes at moderate prices. Eg I had an appetizers based on chanterelles, potatoes, black olives and cherries. Would never have come up with the idea to mix those, but it tasted great.The next available parking spots are a couple of hundred feet away. If you call ahead, the restaurant gives you a key to enter limited parking spots for free.
