Royal Hotel - KOO WEE RUP

So 4 of us went out for dinner, started out great in the bar for a casual pre-dinner drink. All good at this stage until we made a rookie mistake...decided to go and eat dinner in the bistro. After being blamed for not saying there were 4 of us for dinner (the lady never actually asked me and just led me to a table for 2), they proceeded to be rude, unhelpful and very ungracious about taking our order, leading us to order a garlic bread to start while we went back to thinking about our mains once they told us we couldn't have anything we wanted. 35 minutes later, no garlic bread and still haven't had our mains order taken, the boys decide they've had enough and head back to the bar for another drink and just order some dinner from the bar staff. The garlic bread arrives at the 40min mark and we celebrate by carrying it through to the bar to eat with the boys, via the till to pay our $9 bill (garlic bread is $7 in the bar but we paid the extra $2 for the special bistro service). Thankfully the bar staff are amazing, friendly, helpful and actually seem to want to be at work. I wish I could post 2 totally seperate reviews, a 1 for the bistro and a 5 for the bar. Sadly, the food still took an hour to come out. I can understand being busy but the lack of apology by the lady bringing the meals (same lady from the bistro) and the cold meal served up to me has just lost this pub any chance of me coming back here for dinner. So disappointed and still feeling hungry...!

We called in on our way home for some lunch. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was Cosy with the fir on. The food was very good.

A family run establishment in Koo Wee Rup, the entire hotel has had a very lovely makeover, making the Bistro area larger and extremely comfortable. All of the Staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly, and the food is delicious, hearty and very well proportioned.

A good place to have family and friends get together for a good meal in pleasant surroundings. The cost of the meals and the variety available is very good.
