Sushi Chán - Kumamoto

Excellent sushi and reasonable price. The owner of the restaurant speaks good English so no worries about miscommunication. Cosy atmosphere and generally a very good culinary experience. It's like a hidden jewel in town. Definitely recommend!

The best place in Kumamoto. In the two weeks we were here, we went at least 4 times. Amazing saki and nigiri. Amazing sushi chef. Can't wait to come back!

I found sushi bar by chance when looking for a restaurant that was open after 10 pm. The food was very good, the restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and I much enjoyed talking to the owner. He spoke very good English and has spent several years in Germany.

Shohei makes amazing sushi! The sake selection is good as well. He also has a great personality and is fun and easy to chat with in English. Would recommend to anyone!

Easily one of the best sushi bars in Japan. Shohei was incredible, his English skills are very good and his sushi is incredible. The prices are reasonable compared to the rest of kumamoto but the quality is comparable to some of the best sushi restaurants across Japan, coming from someone who works in a sushi bar. On top of all of that the atmosphere he creates in there is awesome it was like we were dining with an old friend, no matter where you are in Kumamoto Mr. Yoshida's sushi bar is a must see.
