As a beer place; the beer is the star here and what a choice. mainly locally, with all Japanese taps, with some rare and interesting drinks. Eating is very good, with several vegetarian options on the regular menu and sometimes additional options under the specificities. Spicy-Fries were a surprising standout extremely tasteful. deep fried tofu was also very good; tofu replaces the pizza crust, for a very unique dish.
Spent a few hours here drink great Japanese craft beer and eat fantastic dishes of food. Simon spoke well English and is an overwhelmingly nice person. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the beer selection and helped me get some delicious food from her menu. A very cozy place that is a beautiful place to relax after a day of typical tourist stuff.
Nice little place with good food! The beer selection isn't huge, but they had craft beer from few different Japanese breweries on tap, and a few craft beers on bottle when I was there.
Fantastic little bar, craft-ale-meets-izakaya, a must visit for any (craft) beer fanatic visiting Kyoto. Excellent, friendly service and superb bar snacks. We had a platter of smoked meats and cheeses that would put a lot of UK bars to shame. Great range of locally brewed Japanese beers too. A perfect place to try a sake too, the staff give a generous overpour into a little lacquer box under your glass. When you 've finished the glass your pour the rest into your glass and drink it up!! A little hard to find, but the 'treasure hunt ' was definitely worth it.
