Kameyamaya - Kyoto

The food was perfectly balanced, expensive, quickly cooked. The staff was kind and friendly. Locals visit the place to have a pleasant conversation with them. Friendly for foreigners. isolated from the crowded streets with a magnificent view and a sense of tranquility.

Unbelievably tasty food in incredible surroundings. Well priced with a meal costing approximately ¥700 per person. I had the tempura udon which was delicately battered, beautifully cooked with a crisp outside and soft broth infused inner and my wife had the beef curry udon which was wonderfully fruity with mushrooms and generous amount of tender beef. I very highly recommend trying this place and is a great lunch stop after exploring the bamboo forest which is in walking distance.

Wow. Unexpectedly this was the best meal we had during our whole stay in Japan. Food was delicious, portions generous, flavors on point, quality exceptional. Topped off with a gorgeous view of the river, this restaurant is a true gem!

Delicious affordable meal, great views, fast and friendly service staff.

Lunch at a very reasonable price (not to mention a perfect view of the Katsura river)
