Live music on the night we went. Food looked good but we didn’t eat. Sampled the Mojitos which were good and potent. Dad returned for a few beers early evening and they couldn’t be more helpful. He was on his electric scooter 84 years young! Definitely a bit different with a laid back vibe. One to try if you are in the area. Check opening times if not summer .
We stopped in recently to recharge after hiking the nearby volcanoes. Drinks are very affordably priced, meals are equally reasonable. Our entire family enjoyed our meals, which were clearly homemade and bursting with great flavor The day we were there, the weather was spectacular, and sitting outside was a real treat. The restaurant is cash only, so be sure to have your euros ready! We didn't know this, but the owners were kind enough to let one of the staff quickly drive me to the nearest cash point! (This was such a nice gesture! FIve stars for Fuerta Vida. It really captures the friendly, laid-back style of the Canaries!
A great menu which we went to on an eBike ride, so a welcome stop along the way. We had some empanadas, quesadillas and nacho salad- the latter was the best, by far! The do beer in frozen glasses, which was welcome to us!!
We always visit this restaurant when we are staying anywhere in the north of Fuerteventura. It has had efficient service with friendly staff but unfortunately standards have slipped considerably. I visited this restaurant twice recently and the first occasion was slightly disappointing given our high opinion of the restaurant with the most recent visit even worse, sadly. On both occasions it is clear that there are nowhere near enough staff, but also that they simply do not think about the needs of their customers. I’m sympathetic to the fact that the one waitress who was almost completely unaided while we were there on our second visit is rushed off her feet and that may be a reason for her apparent unfriendly disposition. However, little things such as asking your customers if they would like to order a drink when long waits can be expected for making and receiving a food order seem pretty obvious to me. My wife and I had just walked more than 6 miles across barren dusty wastelands and over a volcano from Corralejo and were thirsty but we sat for 20 minutes until the very busy waitress arrived at our table and simply gave us a curled up laminated QR code to scan to obtain a menu. She then turned to leave but I was able to intercept her exit to ask for drinks, or she would have left us waiting even longer. I have to say I had difficulty scanning the QR code (three attempts) because it was curled up. But two weeks earlier we had been given a hard copy menu, which I found to be much preferable. The fact that the QR codes are given out individually and taken away again just like proper menus is a mistake. If they were already on the tables we could have been deciding what to eat in that first 20 minutes. Having finally got drinks we ordered a couple of burgers which arrived eventually with no cutlery and no paper or other serviettes of any type. I almost immediately had oil and sauce on my hands and had to get up to gain attention to ask for serviettes. My wife prefers to eat burgers using cutlery but decided it was going to be too difficult to get attention, so just used her fingers as I did. The meal came with chips, but a paltry quantity. I had 9 chips and my wife had 11. It was as though a single modest portion of chips had been divided into two and placed to half fill each of two little metal baskets. When we had eaten it was difficult to get attention to ask for the bill. Eventually I flagged down a man I take to be the person in charge, who ventures to out of doors occasionally, and I asked him for our bill. He said yes but nothing happened. I got no further opportunity to speak to anyone so eventually went inside the staff working area, where I was initially ignored but eventually managed to get someone to make up my bill. This place can provide some good innovative food but their service is poor and has deteriorated considerably since I visited in 2020, 2019 and 2018. I’m hopeful they can find their earlier ambience. This was never expected to be a fast-food outlet. It has reggae music playing and no feeling of urgency, which is fine. But we were there for an hour and a half just to get a drink and a burger. Much of that time we were unable to get any attention, particularly at the beginning and the end of our visit.
