Far East Gourmet - La Verne

Clean, delicious Chinese I had in 20 years! Never disappointed. I've agreed to 10 groups of friends here all. They always want to go back when Chinese food is mentioned!!! Extremely helpful when ordering very comfortable friendly servers. Love this place!

I was on a trip to California and was caught over 9:00 without dinner and was surprised when everything came to this place at 9 and after about 5 restaurants. I went in and asked the woman inside if she would sit on us, even though she looked like she was clearing up and she fortunately said yes. I thought that was just another sub par Chinese place, but I was wrong. Right on the bat the waitress was friendly and helpful and got our drinks and soup very fast. I ordered the tofu with vegetables and expected a fried dish with missing veggies, but when it came out, I was pleasantly surprised to find a much healthier dish of steamed but well boiled tofu with kale and spinach and broccoli in a subtle garlic sauce. It was great and healthy. When we ate the owner and her family, some tables started down. I was blown away that they would delay their dinner to serve us and were so friendly. When we finished, they interrupted their dinner to bring us complementary watermelons to dessert together with the usual lucky cookie. Overall, come here if you want a healthy and pleasant dinner served by a friendly staff. 5/5

This family-owned restaurant is surprisingly never crowded, which astonishes me given how fantastic their food is. The decor isn't anything special, but the dishes are absolutely incredible. Meals are served one at a time, fresh and hot as they're prepared. Every time I bring someone here, they are always impressed by the food.

On my drive from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, I was craving some tasty Chinese food. I stumbled upon this restaurant while searching for Taste of Asia, only to discover that it was closed on Mondays. Fortunately, this eatery is located in the same shopping area, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the combination fried rice and BBQ pork spareribs, and both dishes were outstanding. The hot mustard was just the right level of spiciness. I will definitely stop by again on my next trip!

I really enjoy the food and service at this restaurant! My favorites are the combination fried rice, egg drop soup, and MaPo Tofu. The woman at the reception was very kind and welcoming. As a Chinese exchange student, I felt supported, and she treated me like family. I'm very grateful for her warmth!
