Dack Shack - LAKE PLACID

A gem of a restaurant/bar just far enough away from the main street to feel like a local hangout. Food is amazing, everything on their menu is a stunner with a few show stoppers scattered throughout. Generous portion size. Ordered 2 entrees and an appetizer for 2 people and we couldn't finish any of them.

Great food, a beautiful selection of local brews and exceptional service. I had the fish and chips and a side of beer broken onion rings.

Crab cakes tasted good. Tuna Poke was terrible. Over time, perhaps hiding freshness. It was also muddy, not a good sign. Ate at the bar, and service was best. Christine announced when we arrived that they were secured on the kitchen, which is good to know. But our food came out quickly. She barked with some other customers who wanted to pick up their food. I'm not sure she wanted us to order food or not, I wish we didn't?

In lake placid for the day. Time was late and we had to eat something. I found the Dack Shack and gave him a try. We ordered the fish tacos and they were great. A little sharp, but very good. I'd go back tomorrow and maybe.

We had to order at one window and pick up at another due to COVID cutbacks in wait staff who don 't want to come back to work, but the food was great and there was plenty of outside seating areas. Nice location and good views. Inside seating is now available as well. There is a pickup option as well as 'dine in. '
