McDonald's - Lakefield

The first time I visited this location, the service was somewhat slow, and though I did not complain, the manager brought me a few coupons for free sandwiches by way of apology. The evening of March 10th, I thought I might drive from Peterborough to Lakefield to take advantage of the coupons. Not knowing that the restaurant closed at 10 pm, I arrived a few minutes before that. The lights were still on, and customers were still in the drive-through. I was told when I pulled up that even though it was not yet 10:00, I could only order drinks or ice cream because they were "closing in three minutes." When I came in to complain that the person ahead of me was served and given food while I had to wait to exit the drive-through, I was told that they are not "making all that food when they're going to close in a minute." First of all, you're either open and serving your customers or you're not. Lights are on and it is not past the POSTED closing hours, customers should be served. I worked in food service many years ago, and I am perfectly aware of the fact that you can cook one burger or an order of fries, and food will not be wasted. The first bad experience was understandable, but this second experience was totally unacceptable. I wasted 30 minutes driving there and back, the gas it took me to get from Peterborough to Lakefield when there are McDonalds I could have gone to in Peterborough, and extra money I did not intend to spend because I had to go somewhere else. This service is AWFUL and inexcusable.

They don't serve all day breakfast and sometimes they don't have specialty item. IE when the Mighty Burger was out last year they said they didn't have the grill space for it? The drive thru is OK for a meal on the go.

Just ordered a sweet chili wrap to go the cucumbers where slimy and see through gross it was horrible with very little lettuce and two peaces of rotten cucumbers is all this wrap had on it besides two peaces of chicken yuck tried to call the branch two times with no answer i live in Lakefield and i am ashamed always bad service and now bad food :(

Location is shared with a gas bar :( beside a high school. Tables are always dirty. Drive through is always slow. I have been here many times and it is consistent. Not your average McD's that is for sure.

After having eaten at McDonald's all over Ontario for more than 40 years, at more locations than I could possibly recollect, I do know that this is one I'll never patronize again.Whenever I have gotten food here it's been at the drive thru. The frequency with which they get the order wrong is ridiculous. If you do go here, don't move from the drive thru window until you look in the bag(s) to ensure you have what you ordered.I don't drive and would always have someone who was coming to visit me stop in there to get my order and they never checked it. After having received the wrong order far too many times, I finally called to complain. The manager was rude, too say the least but, after having worked at a McDonald's many years ago, I knew how to deal with her to get what I considered a reasonable compensation for all their mistakes.After being rude and quite argumentative with me, she thought she'd get rid of me by offering to upgrade my next visit with a measly free drink and order of fries. I had already told her what I order, each and every time they make a mistake, and that a drink and/or fries is never part of my order.I told her that I wanted 2 Big Extras for free since that was what I ordered all the time and they were almost always getting it wrong. Even though she was rude throughout the entire conversation, I didn't care, I did get 2 Big Extras for free the next time my friend went to that location for me. My name and other info was taken down by the manager and my friend knew to just mention that plus the fact that my order was to be free. It was totally worth dealing with one of these idiot managers of McDonald's who is on a power trip thinking that their position is so important. Again, I have worked with these exact personalities at a McDonald's when I had my very 1st job decades ago.It goes from bad to worse at this location though and that's why I will never get food from this one again. Once Big Extras were no longer available from this location, what I would order from here changed to a different thing but, I still always got that exact order each and every time.Funnily enough, they seemed to be somehow managing to get orders right more often at the drive thru but, the quality of food is of concern. I won't get into details but, the day after eating the food, I would always be ill in the exact same fashion. This happened on numerous occasions until I asked my friend to pick up my usual order at a different location (Peterborough Chemong McDonald's) and, after having eaten the same amount of the same thing I used to get at the Lakefield location ... I didn't get ill.For months now I have boycotted the Lakefield location and, for months now I can eat my McDonald's order without any adverse affects. This was truly such a noticeable issue that I called the McDonald's 800
