Several items, both my chosen starter and pizza, were unavailable. Dough balls were good, especially the pesto ones. Charred beef rib ends pizza was great. Lime and basil sorbet had too much basil..
This is the worst place. I will never try to enter it again as they have a very rude and tough staff. The Lady on the door told us to wait in the corner for 20 minutes in order to enter the resturant although there were lots of empty table in the front. I asked her if these tables are reserved she replied me in a very rude way”Madam!!!you can't enter now and that set” This is because she saw me wearing Hijaab scarf) . This is very racist and not acceptable. I don't recommend such these resturants to Muslim families unless they choose a good staff who are gentle and fair to all customers. Very shameful to meet such racist people!!!
We were staying in the Premier Inn County Hall and needed a family friendly restaurant for an early dinner that also served pasta as I was carb loading for the marathon. Pizza express is in walking distance. GUTTED to find out that Pizza Express have removed spaghetti bolognese from their menu – that is surely a staple Italian restaurant dish? PLEASE BRING IT BACK PIZZA EXPRESS
The service at this restaurant was excellent, and the pizzas were delicious. I ordered the Romana Padana, which was large, thin, and crispy. The others in my group had the Zucchini Linguine, a Legera pizza, and Cannelloni, all of which were enjoyable. The portion sizes were just right, and the desserts and coffee were also very good. Our server, Igkli, was efficient, friendly, and attentive throughout our meal. The restaurant's location behind the South Bank concert halls made it easy to find a table without a reservation.
The staff were friendly and efficient. The table was clean; as were the bathrooms. The food however is largely a let-down. Starters and desserts were fine, but the pizzas are very small for the price (circa £15-£18) and very sparse in terms of ingredients. Overall, the pizzas are very small, underwhelming/basic and massively over-priced. But the remainder of the menu that we ate was fine and the staff were friendly, efficient and courteous.
