It's unfortunate that this hotel and bar has lost its charm and warm ambiance. I wouldn't recommend it. Service: 2, Location: 5, Hotel highlights: Quiet.

A very pleasent couple of days, the full English was very nice fery good quality ingredients, and the carvery was one of the best ive ever had, and i love my roast dinners, definately recommend. Thanks to all Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 4

We had Sunday lunch today, which was enjoyable, but it was ruined by the lack of heating; it was incredibly cold!

It 's not possible to give no stars so I have to give one. We took over a room which had been booked for our sons father in law who should have flown in from Germany but missed his flight. The room was in the 'yard ' area and had a small window in the door which would have made the interior visible from outside. The room smelled damp, the carpets were dirty, fittings in the bathroom were rusty and the bed bases and mattress 's were damp and heavily stained (we have photos of staining etc).The hotel was locked and appeared to be awaiting renovation and gaining entry was very difficult through a locked side door. There was an open drain outside the room door and a seating area which, if the hotel had been busy would have made the room very noisy. We did not stay and I 'm sure that, if the guest from Germany had arrived he would have been disgusted by the standard of room which was being provided.
