Great fish dish. Fresh fish catch of the day. Big atlantic sole. Nice service. Don't expect a chique chair. That is all basic plastic. Great view and great food.
Fish really delicious, and nice rustic beach atmosphere, but cleanliness is not the strong point. The loos are pretty awful. If you don't know the place, you might be excused for thinking it's closed on a quiet day. Don't hesitate to work your way through the different areas until you find the kitchen counter where you can place your order.
Chez Abdou restaurant has been in its secluded beachfront location near the Forêt Diplomatique on Plage Sidi Kacem for more than 50 years. It is known primarily for its fresh fish. You select the fish you want and it is carefully cooked or grilled and served outside. I once drove along the beach from Le Mirage to Chez Abdou in a friend's old Land Rover during Ramadan to enjoy a fish lunch, and we also had wine and beers. That experience was a lot of fun and, as expected, our grilled fishes were delicious. The unpretentious oceanfront compound of Chez Abdou may be in need of remodeling and upgrading, but the food is consistently very good, generously portioned and moderately priced. Expect to sit on plastic chairs with plastic tablecloths. You may have to swat flies or other insects away during your meal. A friend from Paris was once stung on her lip by an aggressive bee. Although unpleasant, she managed to finish her meal anyway.
Tasty fresh fish Not clean (stains and crunches on the tables) Overpriced (300 mad for big fish&chips, 100 mad for a portion of shrimps) definitely not the price for this type of establishment No credit card No menu to know prices in advance, so your bill may come as a surprise
