Captain Cook's Galley - LARK HARBOUR

This is a busy but efficient little spot on the main road between Lark Harbour and Little Port. Our fish and chips (with dressing and gravy, I might add...just like in town!) arrived piping hot and the fish was was as fresh as you could get...so mild, sweet and flaky, and cooked to perfection in a thin, crispy batter.We had wanted to sit on the back deck to enjoy the view after a quick hike to Blow Me Down Brook (find it...beautiful and worth the jaunt) and before Cedar Cove, but unfortunately their liquor license doesn't allow alcohol to be served back there. Although the view of the hills is beautiful, beer won that fight and we ate inside.Save your appetite and work this place into your plans if you're ever touring the outer Bay of Islands.

One of the places advertised in York Harbour, so tried it & was pleasantly surprised. Had very nice fish & chips which was one of our main choices while in Newfoundland.

The fish and scallops cooked just right. Real home fries and colds law that isn't like everyone else. Good deserts and a nice view.

It's not much to look at, but the staff are friendly and easily accomadated our requests for "just fish and coleslaw" The fish was properly cooked and there were loads of coleslaw. The chicken burger was tasty too. A downer was the wine and to be fair they probably don't have loads of requests, but the white was some fizzy swill. For good basic eats a good choice

Good traditional food. Seemed to be a popular Spot. Fast service and good food. Fresh cut potatoes for the fries!
