King Of The Roll - Larkspur

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in Marin County, and I've been coming here for years. I've tried many other places, including some expensive ones in San Francisco, but nothing compares to this spot. The sushi is consistently amazing and fresh.

Great Japanese food! From Bento boxes to sushi and sashimi and even udon soup and stir fried noodles and veggies. Good soup And nice tempura. This is a regular place for us, reasonable prices. Always a winner!

This is one of a couple sushi restaurants in Marin, and happens to be the one I most frequent, given that it's the one closest to me. It's a pretty intimate little spot, as you're always eating within some 15 feet of the food preparation area. The owner (pictured) is named John Wayne, and he's always enthusiastic to have customers in the door. He always bids people farewell with a bow, as is traditional in Japanese culture. I've left 4/5 stars because the decor is nothing to write home about. It gets the job done, but ambiance is not a highlight here. Instead, it's more about the food. Service is okay not a whole lot of personality, but I get the sense that english is none of these folks' first language, so I give them credit for trying. While I can't speak to the other sushi spots in town, I can say that King of the Roll should have what you're after, as the menu is pretty diverse, and the food has been fresh on each of my visits. My order typically consists of a Dragon Roll, Rainbow Roll, a miso soup, and sometimes a tempura order of some sort depending on the day. If you're stopping off for a quick round of sushi, look no further than King of the Roll.

This sushi restaurant is amazing! John is the most nice guy that I ever met! Super friendly! I would always recommend my friends to go there eat a good quality sushi and fresh sashimi. The best!!!

This is my go to for sushi for 20+ years. It 's a funky little hole-in-the-wall place with tacky furniture but I like the neighborhood vibe. They did a brisk take-out business during the lockdown, so that should tell you something. John Wayne the owner/proprietor is one-of-a-kind. Prices are so reasonable!
