Rupert Hound - Launceston

A bit upscale food. The calamari was good. Fish is a small portion. Big restaurant but low staffs so dont even open the portion next to windows with the view during lunch time. Pity

First meal in Launceston. Located at the sea port, R&H provides good food and wine. We ordered renowned Tassie sparklers rose and seafood feast for two. Wine is good but I’m not so sure about the seafood fired stuff not that crispy and calamari chip floured..

Great location and enjoyed the food. Service was unfortunately a bit haphazard on the night, having said that there were quite a few new team members. Also, quite noisy. We had the scallops and octopus for entrees and the beef cheeks (hubby absolutely loved those) and mushroom pancakes (not so great) for mains.

Thank you for fitting us in last minute on a busy Saturday night. Lovely and friendly staff, delicious food.. fresh oysters and dessert were the highlights of our meal.

A cold winter day had us looking for a warm place for lunch and we found Rupert Hound. R H is located in the Launceston Seaport complex. The complex has parking spaces. Tables well spaced and not a loud environment, even if busy table talk is easy. Meals were extremely fast and very good value for money, especially at surrounding restaurants. attentive service and beautiful atmosphere. Would highly recommend. We had a warm lamb Greek salad $24 and a Margarita pizza $17.
