Írjon visszajelzéstWhat a wonderful experience... I for one have been eating LJS my entire life and have some very fond memories of my Grandmother taking me a couple times a month when I was very young because it was our favorite. That being said the trips have become few and far between as an adult. In my experience it is nearly impossible to find one that can deliver on my expectations. I was beginning to think I must have been young and naive and my expectations were bloated or skewed. That is until my girlfriend and I visited this wonderful establishment. At first glance from the road it looks old and dated and one might assume your expectations should match that assumption but you couldn 't be more wrong! We were greeted by smiling faces and friendly greetings. We ordered the 2 fish, 3 chicken combo to share. We sat down and before you know it the gentleman brings us our food and says ' We 're still waiting on one chicken but here is the rest of it and I will be right out with the last chicken. '. We also watched as the lady brought out another customers food just to turn and make sure everyone else was happy with their food and didn 't need anything. She then proceeded to clean up the unattended booths and tables. All this being said and believe me I know it was an overly long winded review, they didn 't do anything that shouldn 't be expected of any establishment yet it 's so rare these days to see. The staff was awesome and the food was the best I have ever eaten from a LJS. We drove 18 minutes just to feed a craving and now we will come back religiously for as long as they maintain this type of standard. If you want good LJS this is the place to be. I would drive all the way across ATL before I would eat at a different location. In fact I would just forgo LJS altogether if I couldn 't make it here because they have set the bar too high. Thanks for the pleasant trip down memory lane and the reminder of what LJS should and CAN be.
Long John's Silver has updated their menu, and I tried the new Southwestern Shrimp Rice Bowl. It was absolutely delicious! I was the first customer to order it after the launch, and the staff prepared it perfectly.
I ordered the family dinner to go, and when I got home, the fish was still warm—great! The portions of fish were generous, and it wasn’t too greasy. The fries were tasty and hot, too. However, the coleslaw needed a bit more salt and was a little too heavy on the mayonnaise for my taste. The hush puppies were small and quite dense. Overall, it was a good experience, and I left a happy customer. (I forgot to take a picture of the fish before I ate some!)
One of the things I’ve learned over my many, many decades on this planet is not to judge another person by external appearances—but to take the time to see what’s inside—that’s where the real beauty and truth exists. Apparently, this adage holds true in the fast food world as well—at least at Long John Silvers in Lawrenceville! This building has been around since 1975, built only 6 years after the start of this popular chain in 1969. The management is currently planning remodeling improvements, but take my advice and don’t be put off by exterior appearances. Step inside and one of the first things you’ll see is the 100% Health Inspection Rating hanging proudly on the entryway wall—truly an all-too-rare accomplishment for many flashy brand new fast food restaurants! I desperately love this place, it simply has a homey feeling and atmosphere that feels just right to me—this is probably why you’ll find me there once or twice each week. Karen is the General Manager, and it makes me feel really good to come into a place like this where they care enough to get to know their “regulars” and can even predict your order before you get to the register—it almost feels like family! And it probably doesn’t hurt that I happen to be a “seafood freak”, and, in my mind, it just doesn’t get much better in the fast food world than what you’ll find here. I love the classic fried items on the huge menu, but they also offer baked options as well. These wonderful people have reopened the very welcome option of seafood in my life. Being retired and therefore needing to watch my monthly budget very closely, I had been forced to eliminate my beloved seafood via the rather spendy prices found in most places. But, thankfully, once again this place has come to the rescue. Each week represents substantial savings via their daily specials. Monday: 1 piece fish and fries: $1.99 Tuesday: Fish tacos: 2 for $4.00 Wednesday: Senior Day: 2 piece fish dinner with fries, coleslaw, 2 hush puppies free senior drink (available with all orders $4.99 (this makes my official “Geezerdom” truly worthwhile and rewarding!!! Friday: Crab cake $1.00 AND, of course, the legendary All-You-Can-Eat Sundays: $7.99 Even MORE coupons are available on the internet as well as mailer coupons that are at times sent out to area homes. As you can see, even the lowliest of burger joints would be VERY hard-pressed to match the overall values offered here each day!!! Can you tell—I truly LOVE this place? Nice tidy and clean facility great variations of mostly fried seafood and hands down to go to place if you're looking for just that is that a lot of the customers they have are generally older it's still a nice place for anyone he wants to stop by and get a bite to eat
