El Jefe's Fresh-mex Cantina - Lead

We were pleasantly surprised to find this small restaurant in an area with limited dining options. We were impressed by the vegan choices on the menu and the generous portion sizes. We ordered the vegan burrito bowl and were delighted to see that it was loaded with fresh ingredients. The flavors were excellent, with a unique touch from the owner. We inquired about the chips mentioned in a previous review and learned that they do not make their own due to not having a fryer. This was not a big deal for us, but we appreciated that the restaurant didn't have a greasy smell. Overall, this was a great find during our trip through the less-traveled roads of SD, far from the touristy areas like Deadwood.

The dish came with pico de gallo on the side. The atmosphere was peaceful and there weren't many customers during my visit. I would rate the food a perfect 5 out of 5.
