My sister and I visited on the first day of summer, and we were delighted to discover that the dishes are made using the oils and vinegars sold on-site. The hummus is outstanding, and if you're curious about how it's made, just ask – you'll be told exactly which oils were used. I ordered the mussels, which aligned perfectly with the beach theme to celebrate summer. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the accompanying bread was ideal for dipping. My sister chose the grilled cheese sandwich, which she had modified to include bacon. She declared it the best "grown-up" grilled cheese she’s ever had. For dessert, we enjoyed ice creams made with olive oil, which were wonderfully creamy. The lemon flavor struck the perfect balance of tartness, enhanced by a hint of lemongrass and mint, making it an absolutely ideal finish to our meal. I highly recommend taking the time to sample the oils and vinegars available; you won’t regret it. For anyone who loves to cook, you’ll find that these ingredients will elevate your own meals and add incredible flavor to your dishes.

I took my boyfriend here for a date, and I must say... he loved it. I've been here twice before, and wow, the food is amazing. It’s fairly priced, incredibly fresh, and quite filling. At most places, I leave feeling overly stuffed, but not at this one! I can’t wait to return.

Oil and Vinegar shops across the country tend to have a very similar vibe. They offer the same flavors in matching colored bottles, adorned with labels that have simply been updated with different brand names. However, this familiarity is something I appreciate, as I know exactly what to expect each time I visit one. First Taste will always have a special place in my heart, as it was the very first Oil and Vinegar shop I ever visited. I often find myself comparing all others to it. The variety of oils and vinegars available is impressive, and the store itself is beautifully designed. While the atmosphere can feel a bit chilly, and the friendliness of the staff can vary, this charming little shop generally delivers what I need. It’s a wonderful addition to the Leavenworth community, and I’m thankful it exists. Thank you for introducing me to the delightful world of oils and vinegars; my kitchen is better for it!

They also serve a unique assortment of delicious olive oil ice creams, accompanied by knowledgeable staff who can recommend various flavored vinegar toppings. It’s a fun, specialized dining experience that could easily become your go-to spot. I absolutely love it!
