Homefires Bakery - Leavenworth

I just tried the Christmas bread and it's probably the best I ever had (especially good because I have a German grandmother)! Try this place, even if it's something outside the city centre.

Once you enter the shop, the smell of delicious bread and dunishes is there to welcome you. I can't make a wrong choice here. I almost tried everything and they're all fantastic! Even things I usually don't like, like everything with poppy seeds or cherries, I find myself more of it! And everything's up! And the owner is from Germany, can not be much more authentic than that!

This place is a little gem. The lady who runs it is amazing. And there are rows upon rows of baked goodies which all look and taste amazing. I initially got a pretzel and a slice of the black forest cake. Both were authentic German style, the pretzel traditionally dipped in lye, and the cake oozing with cherry syrup and cream. Later I saw the breads, there were so many types and there were samples to try for everything. Ended up buying a whole loaf of the raisin bread. Its a bit away from the traditionally decorated core of Leavenworth which makes it even more tranquil and cute and I can’t wait to return.

An authentic German Bakery with real good bread, pastries, sweets and so much more. The pretzels with the butter and mustard was the bomb simply delicious and melted in my mouth! We were traveling when we stop by this lovely town and saw this old looking bakery but wait till you taste their baked goods it’s soo good and reasonably priced. Memorable place!

Our favourite shop we found. Great prices, a comfortable distance from the busier areas and the most authentic selection of German baked goods we tried in Leavenworth.
